The January Newsletter Is In and Survey for Children’s Book Club

Hi, The January newsletter is in! You can read it here:

https://lwrmomsgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Newsletter-January-2015.pdf

We are also considering adding a children’s book club to our monthly activities. If you are interested in this idea, please take a moment to read the survey for details on what the book club will be and to help us decide when to have it:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/K2QWQVJ

Also, if you currently hold a position within the group, please email Victoria at [email protected] if you are interested in keeping or leaving your position at the end of the year. We would like to begin posting the opening positions in the next month or so to make sure we have an easy transition.

This Week’s News

Hi,
I have been neglecting our weekly updates. I know there are several members who don’t use our Facebook page, and I wanted to make sure they got some news as well!
Our Newsletter is now available to read on our website.

Tuesday – Fun To Be Fit at Lakewood Ranch Baptist Church. Come early (10AM) to chat and catch up. Class will begin at 10:30AM

Wednesday – 4PM Arts Ablaze Studio Paint with the Elves and 6PM Santa Photos on Main Street

Thursday – 6:30PM Monthly Meeting Cookie Exchange at Town Hall. You may want to come early. I didn’t realize there was another event on Main Street that evening. We will serve a pasta dinner too. Join us and then you can walk over to Main Street for a carriage ride afterwards!

Friday – 10AM Kids Outing at Cookie Cottage and 6PM is Holidays Around the Ranch on Main Street

The Christmas party is over, and I wanted to make sure all of our volunteers heard how much we appreciated their help! Thanks to Kristen Raniere and Nina Zaveri for helping with the clean up and Deborah Ryan Hossenlopp for providing us with a pickup truck to get everything to and from the party!! And of course, big thanks to Jill Bennett. I still can’t believe you stood there in those evil shoes, super preggers the ENTIRE party!! You are amazing!
We also had four teenage volunteers. Three of the four are working to raise $1800 for a trip to sing at Carnegie Hall in March. If you have any jobs for them to do – car wash, mother’s helper, babysit, yard work, errands you need help with (at least one of them drives!), or maybe you want to hire some carolers for your holiday party, they’d be happy to help! Contact Shelly Bishop for their info.

We did the raffle at the end of the evening. Thanks to all who participated! Julie will give us an update with the amount of money we raised later this month:
Marina Jack’s Gift Card – Victoria Cobb
American Cookie Co’s Free Cookie Cake – Susan Meyers
Jumpin’ Fun 2 Fun cards – Rebecca Turgeon
Jumpin’ Fun 2 Fun cards – Stacey Burge

Sunday with Santa Deadline Approaching

Tickets are available here or at our Members Only section of the website on the Members Payment page. You can order multiple tickets in a single transaction. Just click the continue shopping button after adding items to your cart:

Sunday with Santa: Sunday, December 7th from 4:00PM – 7:00PM
This is one of the members’ favorite events that we hold and each year it seems to get better and better. If you’ve not been, the biggest appeal is the children get to meet Santa. Well, it is a little more magical than just sitting on his lap and telling him what they want for Christmas. Santa actually gives each child their first gift of the season. You wrap and label a gift for each of your children and Santa will give it to the child that day. This year, we also have:
-Johnson’s PhotoImaging taking photos for us so the lighting will be set. Information on packages will be sent out soon.
-Lil’ Divas and Dudes will be on hand to do any hair touch ups or hairstyles before your kiddos meet Santa. They can also do makeup for the kids as well.
-Cookie Cottage will be doing our cookie table this year. The kids will be able to decorate a holiday cookie that she bakes!
-John A. Freeman, Vice President at Raymond James, is providing the Reindeer Games outside. Expect to see some traditional lawn games. Our gingerbread house is hoping to return again this year too! It’s a great spot to take some fun pictures of the kids.
-Hot and cold passed hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
